We would like to introduce a girl from our guardianship program that has passed all of her health tests, gotten her CHIC number, went into heat and was bred last week! She was bred with Jasper, and we think they will make some gorgeous pups. Her name is Carmel Bliss’s Maple Donut! Her litter is up on our page, and her profile is updated in the “Our Girls” section of our website with pictures and her health information.

Male Available
Status
The girl with the short tail now has a home and a backup list started for her! We also have a male reservation still available. This guy did great at the vet, has done fantastically with the area training, and is as sweet as they come. We’ll consider adding this guy to our breeding program if the timing continues to not workout for other people.

Short Tailed Girl
Status
Pictures can be seen if you click to visit the actual blog! We had the pups seen by our vet a couple days ago, and the short tailed girl has a partially inverted vulva. It’s not affecting her presently, and it could correct itself with growth and/or after her first heat cycle. If it causes any issues, she would have corrective surgery most likely during her spay (preferably after she has a chance to have a heat cycle if possible). Since she will need monitoring and will need to be rinsed every once in a while and kept clean down there, we have decided to give her away to the right home. She may continue to be completely normal, or she may grow in a way that makes assisted cleanliness more important. She is practically perfectly trained to go over the potty grate, so she is doing wonderfully with no accidents. Even in the worst case scenario of needing a corrective surgery, she would be a great deal for the right home. Please reach out if you’re interested! carmelblisspuppies@gmail.com

Male and Female Still Available
Status
We have a female with a short tail that is available at a discount since she doesn’t quite display the typical Golden Retriever aesthetic, but she is an absolute doll!

We also have a male reservation available! The puppy/family matching will take place next week, but here are a few pictures of some of the male pups for reference. They all are a little milk drunk and damp from nursing in the pictures, but still cute. Pups go home July 20th!

Births are Finished!
Status
As we were waiting for Rye’s last pup, Mocha’s water broke around midnight last night. The back to back births took about 22 hours altogether. There were 16 pups born with 12 being boys and and only 4 being girls. We’ve got to wait a little bit to see how all the pups stabalize over the next week, but as of right now, we have seven male reservations available.

Labor has Started!
Status
Rye went into labor this afternoon, and has had 2 huge boys so far! Mocha is showing signs of being not far behind!

X-ray Counts are Complete!
Status

X-rays went smoothly, and we were able to get a pretty good view for counting. Rye has seven pups, and Mocha has nine. We have room for a few more reservations, but we won’t know which genders are available until after the birth. The due date is approx. May 26th with pups going home July 20th.
Both are Pregnant
Status
Both Mocha and Rye had their pregnancy confirmation ultrasound today. We couldn’t get a range of the number of pups, but they both looked pretty full! They will be due within a couple days of each other, so we are excited! We will schedule the puppy count x-ray in a couple weeks, but it won’t take place until the week before they are due.
Ultrasounds are Scheduled
Status
Mocha and Rye have their ultrasounds scheduled for next Thursday afternoon. We’re seeing some pretty clear pregnancy signs from both of them, but we’ve been fooled before. We’ll announce results next Thursday after the appointment and open general reservations at that point. We will have a few male and female reservations still available if they are both pregnant.
Successfully Bred!
Status
Mocha and Rye have both had successful breedings! We did progesterone testing and traveled to Fort Collins to get a transcervical insemination for Rye. Our planned matches (Henry/Rye and Whiskey/Mocha) were successful. Hopefully we’ll have some beautiful babies to send home in July!
