If it’s anywhere near a holiday, a birth will most likely happen on that holiday. We had Labor Day puppies yesterday. Rye wasn’t pushing effectively towards the beginning of her labor, so we opted for a C-section. We will announce the gender split and reach out to specific families when pups are more stable. Not all 12 were alive. Mama and the babies that lived seem to be doing well at the moment, but anything can happen the first week.
Rye visited the vet for her puppy count, and they saw 12! She is due this weekend, and we are hoping and praying things go smoothly! I’ll reach out to puppy families on the lists once the pups are born and somewhat stable.
Rye had an ultrasound today, and we are thrilled to have good news! She is pregnant, and at least 10 embryos could be counted. Ultrasounds rarely give an accurate count, so there could be more! We have an official puppy count X-Ray schedule for August 31st, and Rye’s due date is September 5! This means that puppies will be going home October 31 (Halloween)! Maple is expecting a heat cycle and breeding sometime in September, so we’ll keep everyone updated about that as well! Maple’s litter could be perfect for post holiday timing, meaning pups could be gifts, but would not get in the way of festivities!
The time has come, and Rye is finally in heat and will hopefully be bred around this 4rth of July weekend! Unfortunately, this past month has also brought some disappointing news. Though Frappe completed her health testing and passed with flying colors, her recent breeding did not result in a pregnancy. We will try again in a few months with her. Fletch had some eye injuries that prevented us from moving forward with his involvement in our program for the time being. Plum Princess and Candy were both evaluated, and while they were healthy and are great pets, they did not pass our standards for having a litter, so they will not be in our program either. We are so thankful to the guardian families who have raised, love, and will continue to love these dogs that didn’t pass. Knowing our dogs love life and won’t have to experience any new transitions to a different home really makes the heartbreak of unfullilled dreams and plans a little easier to bear. We have 1 female and 1 male reservation left for those who might be interested! This is not necessarily one of the pups available because pups haven’t been matched with their families yet, but it’s a good representation of what the litter looks like at this point. Maple had a beautiful litter of 8 girls and 4 boys. Everyone on our list should be getting a pup, and we have room for more girl reservations and a couple more male reservations as well! We will get back to all the recent applications next week, after the festivities. Happy Thanksgiving!

Maple had an ultrasound yesterday, and she has a large litter on the way! She absolutely adores having puppies, so we’re excited for everyone to enjoy a litter again. At the moment, we have 3 females reserved and 1 male, so we’re expecting to have more room. It’s an ideal time for a holiday litter. Families can open up a picture or puppy supplies on Christmas morning, learn about the puppy to come, but the puppy won’t get in the way of holidays plans. They also get to start out into the actual family schedule instead of the holiday festivities. Please reach out if you’re interested. The approximate due date is 11/25/25, and the Puppy Pickup Date will probably be 1/18/26 or 1/25/26 depending on the actual birthdate.
Maple came into heat a little early, and she had her favorite guy over! They make beautiful pups, and we’re planning to get a pregnancy confirmation ultrasound in about a month. Pups are expected around 11/25/25, and they would go home either 1/18/26 or 1/25/26 depending on their actual birthdate. We currently expect to have a little more room for both male and female reservations.
A Jasper/Maple pup needs a new home! The pup has completed his shots and has been cleared as healthy and happy by a vet. From what I understand, he has been crate trained, and is a sweetheart. His owner’s life situation will not allow for him to provide what the dog needs.
